contemporary standard. In other instances you may be concerned about the condition of
some of your apparatus. We can carry out a multi-point survey with highlights for remedial
action. New standards are generally not retrospectively applied to old courses, but in some
cases, responsible ropes course managers should adopt new findings, where safety is an
issue. An example of this, would be the new findings on the unsuitability of staples as a
'clip in' access method (on both poles and trees).
